Cátia Gonçalves
Cátia completed her degree at the University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal, in Meteorology, Oceanography and Geophysics, with a final project related to atmospheric rivers and precipitation in the Iberian Peninsula (PI) using data from regional climate simulations.
Currently, she is attending the Masters in Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, also at UA, studying in his dissertation the relationship between aerosols and extreme precipitation in IP, within the scope of the ATLACE Research Project (Atlantic Interactions through the atmospheric hydrological cycle: exploration of data resulting from the Antarctic Circum-Navigation Expedition for a better understanding of clouds and precipitation).
She is interested in areas related to meteorology, climatology, atmospheric pollution, numerical modeling, atmospheric rivers, cryosphere and, with great interest in knowing more about the polar regions and their influences on the hydrological cycle, in addition to the consequences of climate change in these ecosystems.
Cátia is a member of the executive committee of APECS Portugal since 2021.
