Sara Santos has a degree in Biotechnology from Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra since the year 2018. With her longtime love for animals, she worked in the veterinarian diagnostics field between 2019 and early 2022, and had the opportunity to develop and publish an article in the format of small communication regarding “Coxiella burnetii and Chlamydia spp. coinfection in small ruminant abortion in Portugal”. After the opportunity to resume her academic career, her passion for marine life spoke louder. She’s in the first year of her Master’s degree in Marine Biology and Global Changes at the University of Coimbra.

   She has been part of the Executive Committee of APECS Portugal since January 2023.
