
Mariana Molinari
Mariana Molinari is a biologist with a degree from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and is currently a master’s student in Marine Sciences – Marine Resources at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar.
She is part of the Coastal Warming research group at the Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources (CIBIO), where she investigates the impact of tidal fluctuations on the physiology of Mytilus at its northern distribution limits. Her thesis analyzes the variability of heart rate in these organisms under both field and controlled conditions, using experimental approaches to explore thermal stress, biodiversity in mussel beds, and the physiological effects of aerial exposure.
Since March 2024, she has been a member of the Executive Committee of APECS Portugal, actively contributing to the scientific community and the dissemination of polar and marine research.
