My name is Laura, I’m 23 years old, and I’m studying for a Master’s degree in Ecology at the University of Coimbra, where I also graduated in Biology. My interest in polar areas, especially Antarctica, arises from the sensitivity of the poles to current climate change, making trophic chains and the species that compose them incredibly interesting for study, and for understanding the impact of our actions in such an important zone of the planet. I will dedicate myself to the characterization and distribution of zooplankton in the Antarctic Peninsula for my thesis, and I hope to be able to relate this distribution to disturbances in this part of the continent.
